Overhead vs wall mount openers

When choosing an opener, you will need to decide which type of opener will best fit your needs and setup; overhead or wall mount.
Some differences between the two are listed below. You can also contact us to learn more.

An overhead garage door opener is mounted on the ceiling of your garage or building, and uses a rail system to move the door up and down. They are traditionally the more commonly used opener type, may be more compatible with a wider range of garage door setups, and tend to be the less expensive option.

A wall mount garage door opener (also called a jackshaft opener) is installed on the wall beside the door, directly connecting to the torsion bar to operate the door. They can be a better aesthetic choice for some garage or building designs, allowing for more overhead storage space, and tend to be quieter when operating.
